In an effort to probably limit the amount of hot men featured on the CW’s Vampire Diaries, it’s been reported that Joss Whedon-favorite Gina Torres (Angel, Firefly) will be joining the show next week as Bree, Damon Salvatore’s old chum. Sources say she’ll be instrumental in using her witch-like abilities to bring life back to old vampire flame, Katherine. Aside from Torres, co-creator/producer Kevin Williamson recently expressed to E! his interest in Taylor Swift joining the cast.

Maybe it was her performance in last week’s SNL Twilight parody, “Firelight”? Kevin told E!,

“I’m desperate to have [Swift] come play a vampire.” He adds, “Wouldn’t she make an amazing Kristen Dunst circa ‘Interview With the Vampire’ type? I cannot tell you how hard I’m trying to get her – I would kill to have her on the show.”

Kill, like literally? Yo, I’mma let you finish Kevin, but …I don’t think you need to go to that extreme for Taylor. Unless you’re actually a vampire who is totally over the show’s actors approaches to acting, so instead you turn your human actors into real vampires? No wonder the show is so good!
