If I could describe the pressure on New Moon to out best last year’s Twilight film, I’d say it’s like high school sweethearts on prom night… right after prom. You know what I’m talking about — the pressure is INTENSE. Will New Moon go all the way and live up to the hype? Will it prove to be a total score? Will I stop alluding to virginity loss? Maybe. Here’s a round-up of my Top 5 New Moon predictions.

Top 5 New Moon Predictions

1. New Moon will definitely take this weekend’s number one spot at the box office. If Fandango’s record-breaking ticket sales for New Moon is any indication, New Moon will stay number one well into Christmas week. It will then go on to beat last year’s gross box office revenue for Twilight.

2. More men. It’s obvious that the New Moon cast is predominantly male. This translates to you having an easier time coaxing your boyfriend to come watch New Moon with you. That’s right, no un-spoken, taciturn BJ agreements for this one.

More man-dates involving New Moon is also a possibility. With the werewolves and the Volturi, there’s more action than the previous Twilight film that’s legit enough to justify an all-guys night. Even moreso when Eclipse comes out, given all the wars.

3. If you thought the break-up scene in the New Moon trailer looked cheesy, it’s because it really is. And not cheesy in a good way. I can’t really think of anything that could’ve happened before or after what’s seen in the trailer to make that scene un-cheesy. Unless a screen writer decided to write in a big fart or a belch that Edward was trying to stifle. THEN it’d be understandable and I could probably forgive the cheese. But don’t take this as me knockin’ it. I’m excited for New Moon.

4. Minimal amount of awkward Bella head-shakes and stammers. This was an issue in the first film and if there’s a god, hopefully this has been rectified in New Moon.

5. Acting in New Moon might still need work or Summit is really pushing all of the action scenes to really appeal to broader audiences. Why did Robert Pattinson show up to The Letterman Show with a promo clip not showcasing his acting but the Volturi fight scene? Just sayin’.

About SwanDiary

Swan Diary is an online community dedicated to all things vampire within society's current and past culture. Book series, TV shows, movies... you name it. If it sucks, (in a good way), we'll cover it. Swan Diary is an haven for swans -- not the ugly duckling fairytale swan, but swan as a vampire term for, "Human that loves vampires." However, we have no qualms if you happen to be a vampire who loves humans.
