Another week, another new Vampire Diaries cast member. If I were a vampire, I think my favorite show would have to be Showtime’s Dexter. It’s bloody and it’s on at night, simple enough. Since I’m not a vampire, it’s exciting news that James Remar, the actor that plays Dexter’s dad on Dexter, has recently joined The Vampire Diaries cast as Giuseppe Salvatore — Damon and Stefan’s bloodsucking dad. Ironically, there’s more blood on Dexter than there is on The Vampire Diaries.
Adding Remar to The Vampire Diaries cast should be no problem! According to this TV Guide Magazine interview with James Remar, he’s worked with Marcos Siega, director for The Vampire Diaries and previous episodes of Dexter. (Hey Marcos, why the lack of blood on The Vampire Diaries?) Remar is also a fan of Gary Oldman’s Dracula portrayal in 1992’s Dracula.
It seems every week on The Vampire Diaries there’s a new character to be introduced. Salvatore Daddy on the show now — how do you think Daddy Salvatore will change the storyline so far? My money is on him hating on Elena for being so Katherine-like.
