Apparently, Jonathon Sharkey, otherwise known as the Vampire King, has announced from jail that he’s got plans to run for governor in Minnesota. If you’ll remember from last week, he was sent to jail for threatening to kill a judge and his family. Surprisingly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s considered running for governor. In addition to Gina Torres, Kelly Hu, James Remar and maybe Taylor Swift, the L-Word’s Mia Kirshner has recently signed on as a recurring cast member on The Vampire Diaries. With the amount of new additions to the cast, it seems that CW means business when it comes to the Vampire Diaries. Kirshner will be playing the role of Isobel, the wife of Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), everyone’s favorite history teacher slash vampire slayer. New York City-based arts & entertainment magazine The Improper recently conducted a poll asking, “Who’s the hottest vampire?” The choices of the poll include Robert Pattinson (New Moon), Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s True Blood), Taylor Lautner (New Moon) and others. Sometimes I ask myself, is it coincidence that one of my favorite bands happens to call themselves Vampire Weekend? I do love vampires, probably just as much as the band Vampire Weekend. Vampire Weekend is an indie rock band hailing from New York City. The name Vampire Weekend is actually from an amateur filmed produced by one of the band members.
