The Peninsula Daily is reporting that a Los Angeles production company will be holding castings this week for a reality TV show based on Forks, a Washington city best-known as the main setting of The Twilight Saga books. For this, I’ve only got one word: WHY?!
To start with, the actual Twilight films weren’t even filmed in Forks! I haven’t been to Forks, but I can imagine that there isn’t a lot you can recognize from the actual Twilight films in Forks. This has to do with the franchise not filming in Forks. Also, Forks is described in the Twilight Saga as a quiet, gloomy town. Quiet, gloomy and unexciting towns aren’t the usual reality TV locales. Or maybe there’s a whole market of people dying to watch reality TV shows set in small, quiet towns where it’s suspected that not much happens?
Ironically, the production company is looking for extroverted people who “exude the essence of Forks.” Casting sessions will happen this Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Both will be at The Twilight Lounge, 81 N. Forks Ave.
Would you watch a Forks reality TV show?
