Citizens of Lawndale, Calif. and beyond, say hello to the garlic plant flower (pictured). You’ll know it as the reason for the perpetual garlic smell in your city and why there’s hardly a vampire in sight. At least that’s what Lawndale’s councilmen believe. According to Councilman Jim Ramsey, “Since we put them out there, there hasn’t been a vampire seen in Lawndale. Why should we take it out and let the vampires move back?”

You can imagine that for Lawndale residents, the constant stench of garlic is the most annoying thing in the world. Unfortunately, the removal of the garlic plants seem to be out of the question for now. It’s been reported that it’d take $34,000 to remove and replace all 5,000 garlic plants.

If any of you swans plan on moving, make sure Lawndale isn’t on your list of cities to relocate to.

Would you be able to handle the constant garlic stench?
