Soon, I’m sure my brother’s pet goldfish will be able to have a chance of becoming a cast member of the CW’s The Vampire Diaries. It’s been announced that Melinda Clarke, best known for being TV’s first (fictional) OC mom on The OC, is joining the cast as Kelly, Matt Donovan’s mother. Kelly is — surprise, surprise — a bad mom. Not too far of a stretch from Clarke’s former role as Julie Cooper.

The current roster of newly added cast members to The Vampire Diaries is now Kelly Hu, Mia Kirshner, James Remar, Gina Torres and maybe Taylor Swift.

Who else should join the cast now?

How can Melinda Clarke not play a bad character? She’s genius when it comes to evil. I love her eyes too!
