Vampire Diaries Episode 12 - Unpleasantville Reactions

I’ve got something to confess: Vampire Diaries Episode 11? I missed it. Despite missing out on last week’s episode, I made the daring move of watching Episode 12, titled, “Unpleasantville,” anyway. Shocked was I to find out that Elena was actually adopted, Stefan had been a stalker of hers prior to their meeting and that there are now more mysterious vampires in the Mystic Falls mix! Unpleasantville couldn’t be a more appropriate title for this episode. Kind of like Elena’s bump-it.

Luckily, unpleasant happenings only mean more enticing reasons to keep glued to the TV. For one, Elena’s first fight back against a vampire at the 50’s sock hop-themed dance was an eye-opener. Who knew she could fight back like that, without vervain or the help of Stefan? Speaking of Stefan, how unpleasant is it that he may or may not be trying to bring Katherine back from the dead? And that new vampire chick — what is her deal and why couldn’t Bree detect her friend’s vampireness? These are all questions I wish I had answers to. Usually, with any TV show, I’d have my own answers but the way the show is going with all it’s twists and turns…there’s no way to have any good answers. For all I know, maybe Stefan isn’t in love with Elena really. I mean, who dates someone because they remind you of their ex-girlfriend?

For every question I’ve got that only the next episode could answer, there’s one interesting eyebrow raising tidbit such as:

- Vampires can get away with entrance into homes so long as they pose as delivery boys. While that’s a genius idea…WHO INVITES THE PIZZA DELIVERY MAN INTO THEIR HOUSE? I don’t know about you, but the delivery man usually stays outside for me.
- That vampire compass. How convenient is a compass that starts pointing in the direction of a vampire? The vampire compass adds itself to the necklace that protects from vampire advances and the Salvatore ring that allows vampires to exist in the sunlight. I wonder what’s next?
- A pencil can do major damage.
- Elena’s hair for the sock-hop reminds me of what would happen if Elena combined with The Jersey Shore’s Snooki.
