Fans of True Blood’s Eric Northman, there’s much to rejoice about when it comes to this coming season. According to E!, the new season of True Blood will delve deeper into the origins of vampire Eric through flashbacks to medieval Scandinavia. Casting calls were announced recently for the role of Eric’s human father, King Ulfrick/ The question on every True Blood fan’s minds? Who will play Eric’s father?

The role calls for someone who is fluent in Swedish — who better for the part than Alex’s dad, Stellan Skarsgård? After all, he is Swedish and most definitely looks the part.

Sadly, it’s been reported that Mr. Skarsgård turned down the role. Our options for a middle aged Swedish actor got slimmer. So far, fans are rallying for Max von Sydow, Bill Nighy or Viggo Mortensen to play the part.

Who would you cast as Eric Northman’s father?

About SwanDiary

Swan Diary is an online community dedicated to all things vampire within society's current and past culture. Book series, TV shows, movies... you name it. If it sucks, (in a good way), we'll cover it. Swan Diary is an haven for swans -- not the ugly duckling fairytale swan, but swan as a vampire term for, "Human that loves vampires." However, we have no qualms if you happen to be a vampire who loves humans.
