What Happened This Week: Turns out those werewolves were actually Bill’s captors working on behalf of the vampire King of Mississippi. Bill ends up an unwilling guest in the King of Mississippi’s home, despite the sparkling blood drinks and fancy blood meals. (Seriously blood gelato?) Over dinner we learn that the King of Mississippi wants to take Queen Sophie’s post in Louisianna. Jessica finally learns something from Pam that Bill never taught her: How to stop feeding from a human. Unfortunately, the corpse she’d been trying to hide or get rid of has gone missing. Speaking of going missing, Sam Merlotte finally tracks down his birth parents and reunites with his younger brother. Lafayette reunites with his mother who is actually in a mental institution. Lafayette is only really there to prove a point to Tara which is in a nutshell, “Don’t go crazy on us!” Lastly, Eric arrives at Sookie’s house to protect her from werewolves. Sookie resists his attempts to enter her home.

The only thing I predicted would happen from the previous episode’s recap was that Sam would finally get to reunite with his parents and that Tara would stay crazy. Bill and Sookie do not reunite. Jessica isn’t in any big trouble from Bill, but she does run into more trouble in that the corpse she was hiding disappeared. Lafayette wasn’t seen in any trouble in this episode as all he did was bring Tara to a mental institution to visit his crazy mother.

This episode was highly entertaining for me, especially getting to know the King of Mississippi and his lover. It’s interesting to get a glimpse at what vampire luxury is like aside from Queen Anne’s home. I had no idea blood was served in gourmet meals! Just as entertaining was Alfre Woodard as Lafayette’s mom — you can see where Lafayette gets his sass. Sookie shows a great deal of sass to Eric as his attempts to have sex with her become bolder by the minute. The sexual tension between the two is hot! What’s not really hot is I feel like the writers don’t really have an idea as to what to do with Tara’s character. How long can she stay crazed?

What I Think Is Going to Happen Next: Sookie’s going to give into Eric and let him inside her home. They’ll probably do it also. After this happens, Bill will have been released only under the condition that the King of Mississippi gets to meet Queen Anne. Sam will continue to spend time with his family and learn more things about shape shifting than ever before.
