Last week, due to Independence Day celebrations there was no new episode of The Gates. But there have been more than plenty of teaser pics to pique our interest for the time being. But my biggest surprise from watching this week’s episode? Andie still doesn’t know she’s a succubus. (Say what?)

What Happened This Week: Following the crime scenes that I think are gonna be the basic foundation for each episode (with character developments interweaving each week’s episode), there’s been massive robberies throughout The Gates and our favorite Chief of Police Nick Monahan is on the case. The little supernatural tidbit in this little mystery is that our quiet usually on the sides subordinate officer Leigh Turner has gotten something stolen…something that according to resident witch Peg if she doesn’t find soon, it’ll be bad. And of course, the suspense has to build with her nose-bleeding as soon as Peg warns her (typical). Well, happy ending galore, Monahan finds the man who stole everything and Leigh gets her little box back. Too bad what was inside the box was too precious to save Mr. Abernathy’s life, and the episode ends with Leigh murdering Mr. Abernathy. That’s what you get for stealing in The Gates, I guess.

In other news, Brett finally gives in to the wolf pack and goes running with him outside The Gates. Unfortunately, he almost gets caught and his mom grounds him for life. Apparently “running” is dangerous, and that’s how Brett’s dad died. Brett also confessed his love to Andie in the last episode, but she tells him no and instead chooses Charlie (also a cutie). Our poor little football star is now left without the girl and without the team, it’s no wonder he’s hanging out with the werewolf gang more and more.

And finally, our vampire couple the Radcliffs. Claire Radcliff meets up with an old vampire friend Christian, and he tempts her to leaving her non-feeding ways outside the sheltered community. Apparently being a housewife is too much for our poor friend Claire cause we leave her sending a text message to Christian that could get her into a whole lot more trouble.

What I Predict Will Happen: Sighh, it looks like I’m not too good at predicting these episodes. Okay, so next week I swear Andie’s dad is going to tell her she’s a succubus. We’ll see how she deals with that. Brett will probably continue to run with the pack, and we might just see how dangerous it really is (there are hunters, apparently). Claire gets caught by her all-too-humane husband, but I don’t know if he’s going to forgive her again (it’s getting to a boring trend). And maybe we might get a sense of Leigh’s supernatural-ness, but who knows. Since Devon didn’t show her blonde head in this episode, she’s definitely coming back next episode.
Oh, and guess what, I predict Nick Monahan will have another mystery to solve. Now that prediction, I’ll definitely get right.

Until next time,
Watch The Gates Sundays 10:00/9:00c on ABC.

About SwanDiary

Swan Diary is an online community dedicated to all things vampire within society's current and past culture. Book series, TV shows, movies... you name it. If it sucks, (in a good way), we'll cover it. Swan Diary is an haven for swans -- not the ugly duckling fairytale swan, but swan as a vampire term for, "Human that loves vampires." However, we have no qualms if you happen to be a vampire who loves humans.
