What does Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have to do with Seth Grahame-Smith, the author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? Only the remake of the 1960s supernatural soap opera, Dark Shadows.

Now I don’t know Dark Shadows, as it was way before my time, nor have I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (as much as I love my supernaturals, I’d prefer Mr. Darcy stay Mr. Darcy), but I have heard tha t Warner Bros. has hired Grahame-Smith to write the screenplay for the modern adaptation of Dark Shadows. In even bigger news, Johnny Depp will be playing lead vamp Barnabas Collins. Oh, and take a random guess as to who will be directing him. What’s that? Tim Burton, you say? How did you know?

According to Wikipedia, “as a child Johnny Depp was so obsessed with Barnabas Collins that he wanted to be him.” Very interesting, but keep in mind Wikipedia should always be read with a grain of salt.

As for me, I’m looking forward to what kind of madman Depp will be playing this time (think Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Mad Hatter, Sweeney Todd).
