Let the Right One In is a 2004 Swedish horror novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist. Without giving away any spoilers, the plot revolves around a 12-year-old boy named Oskar and a young girl named Eli (who, coincidentally, is a centuries-year-old vampire). Vampire girl Eli promises never to leave Oskar, but her late-night activities soon cause Oskar to be wary and suspcious.
