What Happened This Week: Seven episodes into the season and Bill, Sookie and Tara along with werewolf Alcide, finally flee the Edgington mansion. (!!!) Of course, not without more bloodshed. Sookie kills Lorena to free Bill, werewolf Coot dies and Russell, Eric and Pam kill the Magister — after he pronounces Russell and Queen Sophie Ann vampire and vampire. Sookie herself is almost killed as a very thirsty Bill almost sucks her dry on the way back to Bon Temps. Sookie of course needs a blood transfusion, but it’s in the hospital where we find out that her body isn’t accepting universal blood transfusions. This episode really brings to light the fact that Sookie isn’t really a human after all but something else.
What’s really something else is the dream that Sookie has while under a coma (what happens when you’re low on blood) — she’s told by a spring nymph-like lady to not, “Let anyone take her light away.” Her light of course, being that light she projects when she’s in severely dangerous situations and needs to protect someone/something near and dear to her. Even weirder is that dancing around like a prairie child tires you out, even after you drink the luminous drink that seems to make Sookie feel well after drinking it.
Initially, I thought that scene resembled what people like to call a near-death portrayal of heaven. You know, ‘the light’ and all. We know it’s more than that because obviously, you have to swim into a pool to avoid darkness. I’m not sure if heaven has a big pool in the sky. We also find out that Sookie’s parents didn’t die the way she’d been told!
Sookie’s near-death dream isn’t the only thing holding secrets about Sookie’s true origins. Remember her cousin, Queen Sophie Ann’s play toy Hadley? Yeah. She knows some important stuff that only Eric knows.
Back in Bon Temps, Sam continues his pursuit to find out what the deal is with his family. His hunches about Sam’s brother being used to earn money by shapeshifting into a dog for dog fights are true. Being the respectable, caring brother, Sam takes Tommy under his care.
By now, it’s real obvious that Jason has fallen hard for Crystal. He’d even go so far as to get crystal meth for an inmate. One of the funniest scenes of the episode had to have been Jason asking Lafayette for meth. We still have no idea what Crystal is.
This episode was another True Blood episode where the direction of things is still unclear — a lot of the events that occurred seemed to be filler. Jason asking for meth, all the deaths that took place, that Hoyt’s new girlfriend bringing him biscuits…all seemed to be filler. I’m slightly upset that the episode lacked Jessica…and Jesus. I wish they could bring Jesus back.
What I Think Will Happen Next Week: Really hard to say. Filler True Blood episodes usually lead to bigger, shocking, drama-for-your-mama episodes. Perhaps we’ll find out more on what Sookie and Crystal are. I also suspect that Russell, Queen Sophie Ann, Eric and Pam will form a group crusading against political vampire leaders.

This episode......good god this episode had me on edge a good 80% of the time. I have only have four things to say about this episode tho.
First, now that we know when vampires “truly die” they burst into a sticky like pile of pudding, I think Franklins still alive.
Second, Tara kicking Bill out of the truck was the funniest thing ever. I had never laughed so hard during the two seasons of this show. Did you see her face? lol
(btw why in the hell didnt he die? Is it because of sookies “special” blood?)
Third, after her little dream I seriously believe Sookies some type of Goddess. And I also find it interesting that right as the darkness came, Bill showed up.
Fourth, after seeing the preview for the next episode I’m not too confident in Bill.
oh and I agree with you on Jessica and Jesus. I want the sweet relationships back T_T
