Actor Edi Gathegi, better known as evil Twilight vampire Laurent, will be starring as the new X-Man Darwin in the movie X-Men: First Class. Although Darwin is sadly not a vampire, he is nearly invincible.

As a fairly new character to the Marvel family, Darwin has the power to instantly adapt his body towards any situation he’s faced with. For example, if he is underwater, his body will figure out how to breathe. If he’s in the dark, his body will figure out how to see. Basically, his body will constantly change to overcome the obstacles he’s faced with–making him practically invulnerable. However, the trade-off to this amazing ability is that he has this alien-like appearance that caused him to have a lonely childhood, having even been rejected by his own birth parents.

I think it’s pretty ironic how Laurent had massive dreads, but now as Darwin, Gathegi will be totally bald.

Will you be watching this movie when it hits a theater near you?

About SwanDiary

Swan Diary is an online community dedicated to all things vampire within society's current and past culture. Book series, TV shows, movies... you name it. If it sucks, (in a good way), we'll cover it. Swan Diary is an haven for swans -- not the ugly duckling fairytale swan, but swan as a vampire term for, "Human that loves vampires." However, we have no qualms if you happen to be a vampire who loves humans.
