Whoo, are we in for a treat this week. The next episode of Vampire Diaries is entitled Masquerade, and well, I can’t say I’m surprised. After all of last week’s planning, it had better amount to something big. First, let’s not forget that Katherine has compelled Matt to stop at nothing to get himself killed by Tyler. If we think back on this chain of events, it’s really all Damon’s fault. After all, if he hadn’t killed Mason out of sheer jealousy and revenge (by the way, he looked smoking hot while doing so), Tyler would’ve never have even been within Katherine’s noticing spectrum. Let’s have a moment of silence for Mason here, he was a good character while he lasted.

Stefan and Damon come up with a plan to kill Katherine, and I can tell you right now that said plan will fail? Why? Because we’re not even halfway done with the season and there’s no way Katherine will die so soon. I’d actually be super disappointed if she did–she brings so much life to Mystic Falls. Katherine brings in another character named Lucy, and we’ll see how that plays out.

From the teaser pics (this episode’s pictures makes up for the lack of last week’s), we can see there’ll be two storylines running this episode, more or less. I’m seeing a masquerade ball plot line, where everyone’s looking dashing in their masks and gowns, but there’s also a more serious, let’s kill Katherine side of the episode, which albeit less well-dressed, has some vamp-killing weapons. Stakes will be flying left and right this episode, mind you.
