With all that has happened in this recent episode of The Vampire Diaries, I can’t possibly even begin to imagine what’s in store for next week’s season finale. In short, everything that the season was building up to happened in this episode. Allow me to share: (BEWARE, SPOILER ALERT!)
Klaus assembles the pieces necessary to lift the curse using the newly vampire’d Jenna instead of Caroline and Julie instead of Tyler. Both Jenna and Julie die. Elena however, escapes death due to a spell that was cast by Bonnie that kept Elena alive in exchange for the death of a parent (John Gilbert). The curse is halted by the most cheesiest witch performance put on by Bonnie (if you’ve seen it, you’ll know what I’m talking about). As Elijah moves in for the kill, Klaus reveals a twist: Elijah’s family is still alive and Klaus knows where they are. What’s a Vampire Diaries episode without a twist, right? Naturally, this prevents Elijah from killing Klaus and so they flee the scene.
On the Caroline and Tyler front, the two have made amends and Tyler consoles Caroline over her breakup with Matt and the fact that her mother hates her guts.
And that’s pretty much the episode. But with more suspense, action and excitement.
Given that all that’s been built up to happened in this non-season finale episode, there are only two plot lines left to close in the season finale: Is Elijah’s family really alive? If so, what’s the big deal? Also, how will Damon’s wolf bite heal? As you can see, there aren’t a lot of questions for the season finale to answer. I’m expecting more cliff-hanger type plot twists for the finale!
Watch this episode? Thoughts?
