This has got to be one of the most hilarious thing ever. Blandine and Lionel, from Busigny, France, are big fans of the show, Vampire Diaries. This married couple is now faced with prosecution because they named their son Daemon (yes, after the Damon Salvotore from The Vampire Diaries).

I’m sure we know a lot about the sexy Damon that’s played by Ian Somerhalder on the show, and I do not question this man’s charm and the “spell” he has casted on all the VD fans out there (including me). But it looks like some one DOES have a problem with too much “vampire” love. According the French authorities (and France’s Civil Code),

‘when a name, or a combination of names, is considered contrary to the interests of the child, the civic officer shall promptly notify the prosecutor, who may refer the matter to the Family Court.’

So basically, these French were able to, somehow, think that naming a child “Damon”, is “diabolical” (meaning it’s evil or something…). The thing is that, the child’s name isn’t even “Damon”! It’s “DaEmon”!

All I can say is that, the French authorities are obviously “Team Stefan”.

lol i love the last line XD ahaha. but wow seriously thats the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard....can i just slap them? whats wrong with naming their child that? nothing. its their child. its even spelled differently. gosh what a dumb thing to get on someone for.


seriously? Daemon and Damon are totally different names!
And, does that mean there is no one named Damon in entire country??
That’s ridiculous.
