Melissa Rosenberg’s writing has definitely paid off considering her new title as the highest grossing female screenwriter. The film that helped launch her to this status was The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I, not to mention the three other films already released. So, how much have the films she’s worked in made? That would be at least 2.5 billion worldwide!
Unfortunately someone has to lose in this situation. That happens to be Linda Woolverton, the previous person with this title. Her works were included in The Lion King and the Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland which brought in over 1 billion worldwide! Woolverton, who’s not too far behind her competition, is currently at approximately 2.4 billion.
You can find the breakdown between both screenwriters’ films here.
Let’s not forget, this competition is nowhere near over. Let’s anticipate their future projects!
