Today’s Vampire of the Day is The Vampire Chronicles’ Lestat de Lioncourt. In the film ‘Interview with the Vampire’, Lestat was portrayed by Tom Cruise.
He is fondly called as ‘the Brat Prince’ due to his snobby, arrogant attitude. Lestat is a beauty among vampires. He stands six feet tall, ghostly pale, with locks of golden curls. His eyes are grey, but their colour adapts and change color according to his surroundings. Unlike other vampires we know, he has a continuously animated face. A clue that he is a vampire is that Lestat’s fingernails looked like they were made of glass.
He used to be an actor in a theatre in Paris. He was very popular with both the audience and the critics who describe him as, “the blond-haired rogue who steals the hearts of the ladies in the third and fourth acts.” He was 25 years old then, until a vampire took notice of him and decided to turn him. After being turned, his maker committed suicide, leaving Lestat confused (but also filthy rich). Being poor and illiterate in his mortal life, Lestat reinvented himself as a vampire. He began educating himself in music, literature and the ins and outs of high society.
Despite his charisma and flamboyant nature, he is a loner in his core. Want to stay by his side?
