Their new promo poster says, “Catch VD.” The controversy comes because most people read VD as an STD, so of course, people are in a slight uproar over it. This week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries was heartwrenching, both literally and figuratively. (SPOILERS AHEAD!) Alice discovers that the ‘Vampire Alamanac’ and boyfriend Slater, has been staked in the heart. Tyler experiences an emotional breakdown over a video/journal capturing the excruciating moments of Uncle Mason’s first werewolf transformation. You can’t blame the guy, I would be a hot mess if I found out it took more than 6 hours to transform. Jeremy, for the love of Bonnie enters Katherine’s lair to intercept the moonstone on her behalf. Naturally, he ends up stuck with Katherine and it breaks our heart to watch him being fed on by Katherine. More »

From Ningin: Thanks to the 2010 New York Comic Con (NYCC) and New York Anime Festival (NYAF) taking place this past weekend, I’ve never had a weekend more packed with anime, manga/comics, cosplayers and video games. To put things more into perspective, at least 77,000 fans were in attendance — this event is easily the East Coast’s largest for anime, manga/comics and video games! Right in the middle of it all was me, a comic con attendee of only moderate passion for anime, manga/comics, cosplay and video games. And no, I did not dress up. Despite this, the comic con sensory overload and the exhaustion from walking what seemed to be miles of comic con space packed with everyone and their cosplaying hamsters, I managed to have myself a great time. As much as I can tolerate other people’s love for Robert Pattinson (hey, Lautner’s way better), this lookalike cat just gives me the heeby jeebies. There’s just something about its lack of fur, its pinkness, and its cat wig hair that makes Robert Cattinson look like Pink Panther in a horror film. But maybe that’s just my not-so-fond-of-cats-ness talking. More »
