Twihard Kayla Patterson sent an e-mail to Universal accusing the studio of stealing the werewolf idea for The Wolfman from Twilight, and expressed that she is super annoyed by the the idea that it’s a bastardized version of Twilight’s wolf boy Jacob Black. Four months after a 10 minute vampire gathering occurred last year in before a charity race in Loveland, Co., Guiness declares the gathering the largest vampire gathering. The gathering was for an annual run/walk race for charity, with more than 100 vampires participating. According to this source, each year the race has a theme, and last year’s theme was vampire. Knowing this much it seems the Guinness World Record was misnamed as none of the vampires participating were real, but people dressed up as vampires. More »

Soho Boutique Hotel in Budapest, Hungary now has a place to stay for weary, traveling vampire souls. The hotel, a member of Epoque Hotels contemporary line Avantgarde, features now two new suites devoted to two characters – Krolock and Herbert – of the show “Dance of the Vampires.” According to a press release, the suite doesn’t seem to stand out that much. What sets this apart from other rooms at the Soho Boutique Hotel is the unique baroque period decor. More »

As the nation exists in a constant state of health care debate, I’ve realized there’s one thing the writers of HBO’s True Blood may not have taken account of when writing scripts for the show: health care for vampires. The premise of True Blood is that vampires have been outted as members of society. It’s a big belief that members of society deserve certain rights. Citizens of Lawndale, Calif. and beyond, say hello to the garlic plant flower (pictured). You’ll know it as the reason for the perpetual garlic smell in your city and why there’s hardly a vampire in sight. At least that’s what Lawndale’s councilmen believe. Apparently, Jonathon Sharkey, otherwise known as the Vampire King, has announced from jail that he’s got plans to run for governor in Minnesota. If you’ll remember from last week, he was sent to jail for threatening to kill a judge and his family. Surprisingly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s considered running for governor. New York City-based arts & entertainment magazine The Improper recently conducted a poll asking, “Who’s the hottest vampire?” The choices of the poll include Robert Pattinson (New Moon), Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s True Blood), Taylor Lautner (New Moon) and others.
